Las Vegas welcomes Seven Magic Mountains! Art Production Fund and the Nevada Museum of Art present Seven Magic Mountains a large-scale desert installation near Las Vegas by Ugo Rondinone. The site-specific work nearly five year years in the making is comprised of seven individual towering sculptures and is situated on the far southern end of Las Vegas Boulevard along Interstate 15. Call to Artists for the 2016 London Biennale Las Vegas. Building on the experimental performance tradition of the three previous London Biennale Pollination events in Las Vegas, artists are invited to develop a performance on the theme of Synchronizations - Syncopations. London Biennale founder David Medalla describes the 2016 theme as opening up possibilities of relating the visual arts to music and dance, space and time. This year, one-minute video documentations of Las Vegas Pollination performances will be featured online and viewed by an international audience within the 2016 international London Biennale framework. The deadline is June 17. More information here.

Laura Napier shares the following opportunity: Habitable Spaces is thrilled to invite applications to their first official open-call residency program. Artists, builders and makers are encouraged to submit a project proposal for a 3-month stay at Habitable Spaces this fall (September-December, flexible). The successful applicant will be able to pursue a project of their own design, which contributes to our community farm of artists, WWOOFers, other volunteers, and the wider local area of Kingsbury, Texas. David Sanchez Burr, DISTANCE: An international media arts collaboration is a a campus wide exhibition and walking tour of installation art made through cultural exchange. The project pairs a person from another country with a student to develop a small installation that reveals the meaningful exchange that can happen electronically and with the communication tools provided by the web. Emotional Supply Chains, at the Zabludowicz Collection, London March 24- July 17. The group exhibition of seventeen artists includes David Raymond Conroy’s new video commission questioning the ethics of artist as tourist, created following time spent in Las Vegas as part of Zabludowicz Collection's inaugural residency programme in November/December 2015. The exhibition also features the work of Daniel Keller, Eloise Hawser and Korakrit Arunanonchai who participated in the Las Vegas residency last winter. Curator Paul Luckraft, who directs the residency program, wrote about planning and producing Emotional Supply Chains last month for Elephant magazine, linked here.
