Lance L. Smith, Moral Monsters at the city hall Chamber Gallery. Confronted by those who would deny his humanity and a growing neglect of the heart, James Baldwin almost quietly announced the rise of moral monsters within America: "I’m terrified at the moral apathy — the death of the heart which is happening in my country. These people have deluded themselves for so long, that they really don’t think I’m human. I base this on their conduct, not on what they say, and this means that they have become, in themselves, moral monsters." Lance L. Smith presents small works in charcoal and oil paint exploring moral apathy, race, and conflict. Opening reception February 15, 4-6PM. Through March 27th, 2018. 495 S. Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
