11 Artists, 10 Prints, 1 Museum at MCQ Fine Art downtown. Exhibition and event celebrating the publication of a fine art print portfolio featuring ten (10) unique prints by eleven (11) Las Vegas artists, to benefit the Art Museum at Symphony Park. All sales of the boxed suites of prints will benefit the Art Museum At Symphony Park. Additional works on view by the participating artists. Opening reception and portfolio launch event on February 7 from 6-9PM.

Lia Lowenthal, UNLV Department of Art, Spring 2018 Artist-in-Residence will give anartist's talk on April 12, at 7PM n the Barrick Museum of Art Auditorium.
Plural, a group exhibition at the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art, featuring artworks from the UNLV Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art's permanent collection that explore complex aspects of human identity through a range of traditional and unconventional media. Memory, passion, voice, excess, race, gender, and intersectionality are all brought into question as we search for ways in which a museum collection can reflect our own multifaceted understanding of what we are. This exhibition features artwork by China Adams, Linda Alterwitz, Audrey Barcio, Tim Bavington, Elizabeth Blau, Catherine Borg, Diane Bush, Gig Depio, Andreana Donahue, Jacqueline Ehlis, Justin Favela, Ash Ferlito with Matt Taber, Noelle Garcia, Nancy Good, Maureen Halligan, Clarity Haynes, Stephen Hendee, Brent Holmes, Bobbie Ann Howell, Alexa Hoyer, Eri King, Branden Koch, Fay Ku, Wendy Kveck, Eric LoPrest, Julie Oppermann, Tom Pfannerstill, Krystal Ramirez, Kim Rugg, JK Russ, Sean Russell, Daniel Samaniego, Aaron Sheppard, Sean Slattery, Lance Smith, Brent Sommerhauser, Laurens Tan, Ryan Wallace, Mary Warner, Mikayla Whitmore, Thomas Ray Willis, Amy Yoes, and Almond Zigmund. Lance L. Smith, Moral Monsters at the city hall Chamber Gallery. Confronted by those who would deny his humanity and a growing neglect of the heart, James Baldwin almost quietly announced the rise of moral monsters within America: "I’m terrified at the moral apathy — the death of the heart which is happening in my country. These people have deluded themselves for so long, that they really don’t think I’m human. I base this on their conduct, not on what they say, and this means that they have become, in themselves, moral monsters." Lance L. Stephanie Serpick, A New Fall at the College of Southern Nevada Fine Arts Gallery. Serpick’s newest work represents a place for grief, depression or isolation on panels representing unmade beds, tossed sheets, and the absence of any human evidence. Through March 10.
Register for the Altered Landscapes, the national printmaking conference hosted by SGC International in Las Vegas this spring April 4-7. SGCI 2018 Altered Landscapes brings together printmakers from around the world to explore the tension between reality and representation; alteration and reincarnation; ventures and adventures; construction and decay. Altered Landscapes will capture the spirit of Las Vegas’s perpetual reinvention. Through dialogue and demonstrations, Altered Landscapes will explore transformations in artist attitudes towards the natural environment and printmaking’s evolving roles in creative and social practice.

Settlers + Nomads is honored to be part of this amazing artist-centered online project Common Field. Common Field is “a national network of independent visual arts organizations and organizers that connects, supports, and advocates for the artist-centered field. Founded in 2013 and launched in 2015, the Common Field network has 700+ members across 43 states. Programs include national convenings, grants, research, resources, forums, meet-ups and advocacy. Our vision is to increase understanding, involvement and knowledge of artists organizations and their value, and increase their capacity through national connectivity, dialog understanding and support.”

In this solo exhibition by Clarity Haynes at the Kniznick Gallery at Brandeis University, large-scale painted portraits depicts the history of displaying social power through the painted portrait. Cindy Rehm and Sara Fowler, Feminist Love Letters at ICA LA on February 11, 1-4PM. In 1971 Nancy Spero sent Lucy Lippard a letter with the simple but impassioned message: “The enemies of women’s liberation in the arts will be crushed. Love Nancy.” This note serves as the inspiration for Feminist Love Letters, a project that invites participants to profess their love, send words of support and encouragement, or unleash their feminist fury in a letter to a contemporary or historic feminist. The artists will provide papers, pens, and stickers to accommodate your epistolary declarations. All letters will be documented and archived at http://feministloveletters.tumblr.com.

Craig Colorusso, in AWOL: Art Without Limits for the Ent Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs. Colorusso created a new work as part of his MOON PHASES series - Moon Pod - for a one-year period of installation (January - December, 2018). The sculpture is a sound art work that will play music based on the fullness of the moon, beginning in silence with the New Moon and slowly filling with sonic density, adding notes until at its fullest during the Full Moon. The artist's Sun Boxes will also be installed in varying configurations across the landscape surrounding the Ent Center for the Arts over the one year period, inviting cross-disciplinary responses from a range of UCCS and community artists, dancers, performers, musicians, and yoginis.
